The week in Lapland was amazing not only because of the activities we did, but also because of the people we connected with. Besides local activities like snowshoeing, skiing, ice fishing or sledding, we also visited some really interesting places. Among them were a museum about the life of the Sámi (local indigenous people) and a reindeer farm. But the highlight was probably a visit to Norway, where we went swimming in the Arctic Ocean. Of course, we also went to the sauna every day. At night we played games, watched movies or enjoyed the amazing night sky with not only many stars but also the northern lights. The bus ride there and back was quite exhausting and sad because I had to say goodbye to my new friends.
The following Monday I had a day trip with my class to Pärnu where we went bowling and to an escape room. On Tuesday I went with my FLL team first to Tallinn to talk to a scientist and then to Pärnu to pick up the costumes we’ll wear for the FLL Final.
On Friday of the same week my school’s dance competition took place. The performance of my class was ok, but too boring to convince the judges (Koeru Keskkooli XII Omaloominguliste tantsude võistlus 2025 – 11. klass Hellalt hoia mind).
The following weekend I participated in the final round of the Estonian National Math Olympiad. I got the second place but I’m not allowed to join the TST of Estonia for the IMO because I would have to study in Estonia for two years to join the team.
This weekend I went to the FLL Final where the best teams mainly from Estonia but also from Finland and Latvia participated. Unfortunately we didn’t have much luck with the Robot Game part. So we won one of the four categories which were won by different teams each. During the night we spent together with all the teams we had a lot of fun just being together, meeting new interesting people and talking.
