Autumn Ball

This week I moved my Estonian lesson from Thursday to Wednesday to attend the volleyball training in Järva-Jaani. From now on I will go every week and try to go twice a week. Before I went there on Thursday I built the missions for this year’s FLL because we got the field with the missions earlier this year after applying for it. The training was fun and I didn’t do as bad as I expected. The coach wants us to have fun and that is the main point of this group. To get there on time I stayed at a friend’s house because she lives in Järva-Jaani. After the training my dad picked me up because he had to go to Tamsalu to pick up my sister anyway.

Yesterday was a pretty normal school day, but I couldn’t meet with the robotics team because the autumn Ball was in the evening. It was the first time it had happened, so nobody really knew what to expect. At 7 pm I went with my sister and one girl from the 10th grade that lives next to us to Koeru and I was lucky enough to find the right clothes after my sister gave me some great advice. The ball was free to attend, including food and drinks. It was a bit different from the balls I’m used to, in that there wasn’t much in the way of classical dancing. It was a great opportunity to meet new people, but just not what I’ve expected. The live band from Paide played during the evening, and it was more like a concert than a ball. I felt the technical equipment used by the band was way too professional for the music they made, but on the plus side, there was also a social aspect to the evening. I met four people from Tartu. Two of them went to my school until Year 9, so two of the girls live together in an apartment in Tartu, and the other boy and girl have their families in Tartu. We got on really well and later that evening I found out that one of the girls is actually the daughter of my headmaster. Because my sister wanted to go home and my mother didn’t want to drive twice, we went home shortly after midnight.

Because the daughter of my headmaster stays this weekend until Sunday I visited her again. So today I got known to the graduation exams of my headmaster and other funny things that definitely not everyone can say about their headmasters. I stayed the whole day at their house and just recently came home. Today we just talked a lot and she showed me the surroundings. Probably we’ll meet again tomorrow or on another week.
